The New Statesman’s Energy and Climate Change conference is a day of insights, discussion and debate focusing on the future of our energy systems and our planet, and the implications for our country and our politics.
The government has committed to decarbonising all sectors of the UK economy to meet our net zero targets by 2050. Decarbonising our energy systems – which are responsible for over 25% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions – will be an essential part of the green transition. But, with the delivery of net zero becoming an increasingly politicised issue here and abroad, how can we deliver on our commitments? What does a successful transition look like and how can the UK be a world leader in the green industries of the future? And how can we ensure that economic growth does not cause environmental damage?
Join us on Tuesday 14th May 2024 in central London to hear from experts, politicians and industry leaders. We will examine topics including energy security, the role of innovation and technology in the transition and how we can create jobs and growth.
